Easter bunny came while we were at breakfast.
A bit dreary out the window this morning but we have a town highlights tour booked so we're off exploring anyway. Thunderstorms are predicted.
Union Station, Kansas City, was the start of our tour.
Looked a little posh but well patronised.
After the bus tour where we were the only customers we went exploring on our own.
Come all this way and we can watch a show about the great barrier reef.Walking UP to the WW1 memorial.
Of course we chose the side that was closed so back down, around and up we went.
Some of the museums that I would like to have visited (Money and Hallmark cards) were closed today.
Liberty Monument.
Stitched pano of the view from the top.
Kansas is known as the city of fountains but unfortunately most of them have been "winterfied" according to the tour guide. The winter weather is so cold that the water would freeze in the pipes.
Science city was finally opened so we paid $36usd entrance fee. It's basically a smaller version of Questacon and for us not really good value for money. We enjoyed it regardless.
Sand for making hills/mountains with a topographic map overhead. This and the cloud below were really cool fun to experiment/play with.
Making a cloud with bubble mix and a steam hose.
Home for an afternoon of laundry, blogging and sampling a couple of our chocolates.
Window is a bit dirty but the evening sky was beautiful.
The predicted thunderstorms haven't happened as yet.
We have 2 days left before we fly out to New York for our final part of the USA leg of this adventure. This is 1 of the changes to our original plan as we had hoped to drive to NY. With weather restraints taking us different routes at a slower pace we decided to skip ahead and have booked 9 nights in Times Square with a little adventure thrown in the middle.
Today's temperature was 14-27°
We drove about 6 miles/10 kms.
Fun fact: We've walked 166kms during March according to Strava.
