Day 50. Canada 🍁 8.4.24

Up and at the bus stop by 6am this morning. Plenty of people wandering around. We grabbed a McCafe latte on the way. It's 6°

We are doing a 2 day tour that includes Niagara Falls and because we have an Australian passport we don't need a visa to enter Canada. Our guide has informed us that we will be spending the night in Canada 🍁.

The Manhattan skyline with the sun rising taken  from New Jersey.

We will also have to drive through Pennsylvania as there is no direct highway north.

Delaware River on the border.
Not the greatest photo but we crossed into Pennsylvania (PA), our 13th state.

Breakfast stop in PA

We should witness this later this afternoon.

Looks like a nice little camping spot on the Susquehanna River.
Crossed the Chemung River.
Advertising or accident 🤷‍♀️

Stopped in the town of Elmira for lunch at a supermarket that has a cafe attached. Then a quick stop to see the She-Qua-Ga falls in Watkins Glen

The town also boasts the World Guinness Book of records for the smallest restaurant (below), seats 1.

Drove through Geneva. Apparently it's a rich man's area. So of the houses were quite big and beautiful.  Hard to photograph in a moving bus.

Lake Geneva.

3.18pm and the sun has disappeared.

At 3.22 it started getting light again.
We got a tiny glimpse of the eclipse through a gap in the clouds at 3.27.
I watched the solar eclipse on the NASA website.
Crossed the Niagara River

Church with a casino behind it in New York State.
Crossed the Niagara River again.
Border crossing in to Canada 🇨🇦 We had to get off the bus and go through customs.

The view from our room at the Comfort Hotel. We were in our room less than 10 mins before we headed out in search of the waterfalls.

First look at America Falls, with Bridal Falls the small one on the right.
Rainbow Bridge which we crossed in to Canada.

I left my selfie stick at the hotel 🤦‍♀️

Squirrel

At night they light up the waterfalls.

There was a drone light show but we had already left and weren't going to go back the hill to come back up again. You can see the circle in the above pic which represents the eclipse.

Today we walked 9kms.

Day 90. Home. 18.5.24

A very cruisy flight. Arrived back in Brisbane half hour early.  I caught up on some movies and we both managed a couple of hours snoozing. ...
