Day 70. Kusadasi, Türkiye. 28.4.24

Up and ready before 4am for our next adventure. I'm feeling almost normal but Mark had a bad night coughing. Seems to be worse for him at night/when he lays down.

After a luxurious ride into Istanbul airport we had time for a coffee before boarding an internal flight to Izmir. An uneventful short flight. We were met at the exit by a driver who drove us to Ephesus to join a small tour group. It couldn't have gone smoother. Well done to Aspire Travel Agents in MB.

We are smiling ☺
Our first stop was St John's Basilica.
Copied from Wikipedia.

Storks were plentiful.
Then we went to the temple of Artemis,  the Goddess of fertility.

On to the house of Mother Mary. It was small, but beautiful

No photos allowed inside.

I had a drink of holy water.

We went to the ruins of Ephesus.  The photos are on Marks phone because I left my phone on the bus. This almost caused a panic because I thought I'd actually had my phone with me 🤦‍♀️ Those photos will be uploaded when I get a chance.

Lots of terracotta pipes found.

The above ledge with writing apparently belongs on top of the below pic.

Public toilets. A wet sponge on a stick was used to clean yourself when finished,  hence the shape of the toilet.

The theatre from a distance.

Lots of photos of around town. This place is beautiful. I wish we had a few days here.
The view from our balcony room.
Left Mark to nap and went to check out some sculptures I saw on the way in.

I love a good sunset. We walked over to the castle.

I walked 10kms today and the temperature got to 23°

Day 90. Home. 18.5.24

A very cruisy flight. Arrived back in Brisbane half hour early.  I caught up on some movies and we both managed a couple of hours snoozing. ...
