Up and ready before 4am for our next adventure. I'm feeling almost normal but Mark had a bad night coughing. Seems to be worse for him at night/when he lays down.
After a luxurious ride into Istanbul airport we had time for a coffee before boarding an internal flight to Izmir. An uneventful short flight. We were met at the exit by a driver who drove us to Ephesus to join a small tour group. It couldn't have gone smoother. Well done to Aspire Travel Agents in MB.
We are smiling ☺ Our first stop was St John's Basilica.Copied from Wikipedia.
Then we went to the temple of Artemis, the Goddess of fertility. On to the house of Mother Mary. It was small, but beautiful
No photos allowed inside.
I had a drink of holy water.
We went to the ruins of Ephesus. The photos are on Marks phone because I left my phone on the bus. This almost caused a panic because I thought I'd actually had my phone with me 🤦♀️ Those photos will be uploaded when I get a chance.
Lots of terracotta pipes found.
The above ledge with writing apparently belongs on top of the below pic.
Public toilets. A wet sponge on a stick was used to clean yourself when finished, hence the shape of the toilet.
The theatre from a distance.
