Day 11 Tuscon 29.2.24

This morning Gunther dropped us off in Tempe to collect a hire car. We have a Chevrolet Spark, which is quite small but economical 🤷‍♀️ I have christened it the guinea pig!

We are heading off to do some sightseeing in the Tuscon area. The drive may be a bit challenging remembering that we have to drive on the other side of the road to home.

View along hwy I-10

We visited the Pima Air and Space Museum.

One happy little man
We took a guided 'tram' tour around the planes outside.
A Warthog and Mustang in training.

Managed to capture a snippet of one of the passovers.

The Peacemaker.

After the tour we went in to the Gallery.

In the B 17 hangar a 100 year old man was giving a talk about his missions over Germany in the plane behind him. It was very interesting to listen to.

We saw one of the in a tour at Charleville airport too.

Super Guppy.
An excellent 4 -5 hrs was had here but my feet said it was time to find our accommodation. We are staying at a Motel 6 in Benson. This one is not as good a quality as the one in Anaheim. It's noisy and close to a truck stop but it has a bath which i made the most of. The mountain views are stunning but the photos don't do it justice.

Sunset shots taken from our 3rd floor window.

Our room for a couple of nights.
Today's temperature got to 17°

The truck parking lot opposite our room. Thankfully we can't hear any of that noise.

Today we drove ~175miles or 280kms.
