Day 22. Las Vegas 11.3.24

After a decent sleep (6hrs) we headed off to find breakfast. Belgian waffles at a place called Fat Burger 🤔🤷‍♀️ They were really good. There is quite a lot of strawberries hiding under that cream.

We chose to walk the Vegas Strip today. Each hotel/casino has it's own theme. Quick walk through New York to get to the road.

Couldn't resist a walk through the chocolate shop.

A few pics of buildings as we walked down the strip.

I remember eating these sweets when I was a kid.
The Bellagio and Caesars Palace Hotels.
A couple of older buildings.

We went into the Venetian. Unfortunately Mark needed to go do stuff for the guinea pig and I went solo for the next 6 hrs wandering around Vegas. Not sure if that was smart.

Didn't feel like doing a gondola ride on my own.

Treasure Island
I found a side street that had Starbucks so I had my first coffee for the day at midday.

Obviously Paris is the next spot I explored.

A stitched pano, almost got the top of the tower in.

The next casino to explore.

Lots of pretty lights in Planet Hollywood.
I may have got myself a nice little souvenir of Las Vegas.

Even the ladies room was decorated.
There are multiple Gordon Ramsay restaurants in Vegas.  This one had a very big queue to get in.
Found my way out eventually.
To cross a busy road you have to go up the escalator across the glass bridge and back down the escalator. I started out using the stairs, then as I got tired I used the escalators and eventually the elevators.
I last 2 minutes in the Coca-Cola store. Way too many people.

All the coloured stripes on the back wall are giant tubes of M&Ms. This is a 4 storey shop full of them.

Coca-Cola had a glass bottle elevator up to a 4th floor restaurant.

Back to the New York New York hotel which is thankfully connected to ours by a bridge over the road.

Inside the NY

The show we have tickets for tonight.

A gambling area NY style apparently.
The bridge to home, looking back at NY which has a roller-coaster on the roof 🎢

My step counter says I walked 13kms on this little adventure. No wonder my feet are sore.

Last night we had Chinese and tonight we had Italian for dinner. Above is what was leftover from our baked rigatoni. Way too much food. A small serve feeds 3 people.

The weather was lovely again today,  top of 20°

Waiting patiently for our late night show to begin.

It was very loud and lots of cast members, so very busy. It was a mixture of music, singing,  dancing, juggling, comedy and acrobatics,  which were incredible. Unfortunately we were asked to turn phones off (which I'd already done) so no photos of the performance.

We finished the night with a visit to the Hershey Chocolate Shop.  Mmmmm it was delicious.

Getting breakfast for tomorrow 🤪

No wonder my feet are sore.  13kms of that was in the wrong shoes 🤦‍♀️

Day 90. Home. 18.5.24

A very cruisy flight. Arrived back in Brisbane half hour early.  I caught up on some movies and we both managed a couple of hours snoozing. ...
