1° this morning when we got up after a noisy, restless night. The motel is a big complex and had a million lights on outside, traffic noise and people clomping around until midnight.
Oh well, that's life.
We are doing a guided walk around downtown Denver today but first we are doing our own river walk.
An interesting way to park your bike. The confluence or joining of 2 bodies of water, Cherry Creek and South Platte River.
South Platte River.
This area is used for some white water sports like tubing and kayaking.
A few of the murals under one of the bridges.
Cherry Creek. The walking and cycling infrastructure in this area is vast. Shame we didn't have more time.
If I had to live in Denver I think I'd be happy here.
Crossing back over the railway tracks.
We did a very enjoyable 2 hr guided walking tour around lower downtown Denver. Lots of old buildings and mural photos follow.
When renovating years ago under ground tunnels were found. This is the only part still accessible.
Our tour guide recommended Amante's for coffee and it was a good way to replenish our stamina for our next walk.
We jumped on the free mall bus to the City Civic Area.
After all that walking we were ready to jump back on the bus and head back to the car park.
We spent the evening plotting and scheming. We have made several major changes to the rest of our USA leg of the holiday. Tomorrow we head towards Kansas.
Today the temperature got up to 16°
We walked 10kms.
