Yep, It's cold but the ice on the car melted quickly in the rising sun ☀
We have decided to move on eastwards as far as possible towards Lincoln weather/roads permitting.

Coming in to the town of Ogallala. We stopped to have a coffee and check the roads again. Thankfully they have improved slightly so we may get a bit further than we thought.

Drove to the town of Grant and the road was clear so we kept going.

Heading to Wellfleet. The road report this morning said the road was open with some snow and/or ice possible.
Yep the hwy was clear but the town itself was another story. We managed to turn around and head back to the hwy.

My grandsons' surname is Curtis so they'll be excited to see where we've decided to stay the night.

Once we were organised I went off on a walking trail around the golf course. The temperature was 2°, the sun was shining and no breeze = perfect.

I did this trail solo. It was very invigorating, but I was mindful of all the different animal tracks and that I was a fair way from the motel in the woods by myself.

It was getting a bit slushy and heading further away from the motel so I turned around and followed my foot steps back.

We went to Martha Jo's restaurant for dinner on the recommendation of the motel manager. It was the most boring, plain hamburger I've had. I had to remind them that my burger was supposed to come with salad and all they'd given me was a meat patty in a dry bun 🙄. So they bought out my salad on a side plate.
Today we travelled 136 miles/219 kms and have again moved into a different time zone. We're now only 15 hrs behind Brisbane.
