When I couldn't get tickets to climb inside Big Ben I decided to go to the Churchill War Rooms. Our friend Kevin said it was really good too. We can now confirm that he was indeed correct. We spent 2 and a half hours in the underground rooms.
It was just over a 2 km walk to get there, with a little exploring on the way.

These muddy boot scrapers are built into the wall.
Went for a wander through St James's Park looking for coffee. Unfortunately it was weak and lukewarm but we sat on the grass, as seems to be what the locals do, in the sunshine and drank it anyway.
This young pelican seemed to not know how to get back to the water.
Along comes mum? to help out.
We did part of this walk in St James's Park.
Walked up to Hyde Park.
Serpentine lake.
Imagine coming home after a few drinks and trying to find your home.
I have enjoyed meandering through 3 different London parks so far. The gardens have been very colourful and so pretty. I think I'll have to plant some Jonquil bulbs again.
We had an authentic Nepalese meal for dinner. The restaurant was a small 2 story home run by a Nepalese family. The food was delicious.
The weather was breezy and the temperature was 9-15°. We walked 12 kms today.
