After breakfast we jumped on the bus and headed off for the ferry. Unfortunately even though we were a minute or 2 early we couldn't fit on the ferry and had to wait an hour for the next ferry that takes buses.
Finally on the ferry.
This is a WWII bunker.
We followed the trail the Anzacs took to the top of the 1st ridge. It was no easy doddle. We can only imagine how hard it was for the diggers carrying their gear and being fired at constantly.
Queensland Point.
Standing on ridge 1 looking across the valley to ridge 2. The track you see wasn't there when the soldiers made there way across.
We have had a huge day walking in trenches, around the battlefield and to numerous memorials.
Chunuk Bair and the New Zealand memorial.
We had an incredible day. Information overload but very moving and heartfelt stories were told by some of our fellow travellers of their families connections to the Gallipoli campaign.
Early night was had, Mark's unwell, feeling cold (I'm quite warm) and coughing. He slept half the bus trip home.
We walked about 7.5 kms.
