Day 85. Doha. 13.5.24

We were awake early after a good sleep. Headed out to do a little exploring just before 7am. It was already 27°

Great walking and cycling track along the waters edge.

Good morning from another cat loving country.  Apparently there's more cats than people in Qatar or should it be Catar 🤔
Our first cappuccinos since leaving London, almost 4 weeks ago, were disappointingly weak 🤦‍♀️ Mark enjoyed the Turkish coffee but I found it too strong. We had been enjoying the tea in both Türkiye and Egypt.

Views from our room.

The Islamic museum of art, which we will visit tomorrow.
Call to prayer 🙏 🎶

It's way too energy sapping hot outside (34° at 9am) so we are doing a sunset cruise tonight. More pics to come.

4pm we headed off for an adventure.
Heading out on a Dhow boat on the west bay.

Grand Sheraton Beach.

This building is beautiful at night, all covered in colour changing lights. We can see it from our room.
A big dugong.

New parliament house in the middle,  with flag flying.
Flags were displayed of all the countries that qualified for the world cup.
Qatar is very proud of themselves for hosting the cup. They built new cities and 8 new stadiums.

After our cruise and a short walk along the Corniche we visited flag plaza.
119 flags representing the countries that are friends of Qatar.
Our guide took lots of photos of us.

We both really enjoyed being out on the water. The skyline was amazing.

The temperature range today was 27-37°

A very cruisy flight. Arrived back in Brisbane half hour early.  I caught up on some movies and we both managed a couple of hours snoozing. ...
