Day 86. Doha. 14.5.24

I've woken up coughing and with a headache this morning 🤦‍♀️ We may be a bit over being sick!

After breakfast,  panadol, puffer and a shower we headed out for a walk but it was 33° so we didn't go far. The park I wanted to look at was under maintenance so we just did a blockie. We're finding that we are getting tired easily and are taking WW's advice...less walking, more rest 😇

Arrow is pointing to our room at the Ramada. Think this is the 3rd Ramada we've stayed in so far.
We have seen a few Double Tree by Hilton hotels on this trip.
More hotels.
Pigeons enjoying the water outside a government building.
The 15th Asian games were held in Doha in 2006.

Hotel lobby from the mezzanine level.

We have another private tour booked to see the city highlights later this afternoon/evening.  We've decided that is the only way for us to enjoy all that Doha has to offer while we're not 100%.

Little cafe we discovered next door.

Our first stop on the city tour was at the Qatar museum. Designed like the desert rose plant. It opened about 5 years ago so visitors for the soccer world cup would be able to learn about Qatars history and culture.

We didn't have time to go in but we might take ourselves there on Thursday.

Water feature at the museum.

Our guide took numerous photos tonight.

Box Park. Amazing container buildings.

Check out the cars halfway through the video

Cruise ship terminal.
Dhow boat.
We visited the cruise ship terminal to see the aquarium.

We visited Katara cultural village.

The street is air-conditioned.

They sure love their soccer.
Musical fountain.

A Qatar amphitheatre based on a Colosseum.

A young Arabian woman's mask.

No speakers 🔊  needed. It made of stone and the acoustics are amazing.

Musical fountain in action.

Nope too tired. Finish tomorrow.

Blue Mosque
A pigeon house.
A living bouquet of flowers.
The gift, a children's museum. Photo doesn't do this building justice. It actually looks like a gift/present, wrapped in a gold bow.

My money belt, hidden under my tshirt, is very flattering for photos.

A couple of 5 star hotels.
We moved on to 'Little Venice'

Exhausted after a 4 hr tour and posing for soooo many photos we headed home to have dinner at 10pm.

Todays temperature range was 29-40°

We walked 6kms today according to my step counter. All those little walks sure add up quickly.
A few photos from Marks gopro

Day 90. Home. 18.5.24

A very cruisy flight. Arrived back in Brisbane half hour early.  I caught up on some movies and we both managed a couple of hours snoozing. ...
