Day 39. Lincoln, Nebraska. 28.3.24

We woke to a very pleasant 2° today. No need for the heater last night.

We explored Lincoln by foot, bike and car.

The Legacy retirement village had an awesome sculpture at the entrance.
All the letterboxes are right beside the kerb. It's a single lane so hopefully the postie delivers at night.
We walked along a small part of the Billy Wolf trail and later we hired a couple of ebikes and took the trail in to the city centre.

We saw quite a few American Robins. Hard to get a photo.

Lots of pathways and cycle lanes.

Masons lodge.
State Capitol Building,  completed in 1932, features a 400ft domed limestone tower.

St Mary's Catholic Church.

A round church.

Lincoln High School.

Lots of fountains weren't working, probably due to the season.

Bit tricky to ride.

Decided to try Freddy's for lunch.
They sure do love their fries.
Frozen custard,  like ice cream except it's smooth and thick. Bit like a soft serve. Chocolate brownie, custard, hot fudge sauce, whipped cream with a cherry on top.
I went for a walk to the supermarket while Mark had a snooze.
Apartment building.

We only  rode 16 kms as it involved a lot of sightseeing and photography.

Today's top temp was 21° The warmest it's been in a couple of weeks.

  1. I hope you realise that the size of your bum is directly proportional to the size of your frozen custard.

A very cruisy flight. Arrived back in Brisbane half hour early.  I caught up on some movies and we both managed a couple of hours snoozing. ...
